Welcome to Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox survival game where you explore, gather resources, build structures, craft tools, and survive against mobs. There is no single way to play, which is what makes Minecraft unique.

This guide covers the basics for new players and will help you survive your first few days.

Game Modes

Survival Mode

You must gather resources, manage hunger, and survive hostile mobs.

Key Features

  • Health and hunger systems
  • Crafting and resource gathering
  • Day and night cycle
  • Hostile mobs at night
  • Progression through mining and exploration

Creative Mode

You have unlimited resources and can fly.

Best For

  • Building
  • Testing ideas
  • Learning mechanics
  • Map creation

Hardcore Mode

Like Survival mode, but you only have one life.

Adventure Mode

Designed for custom maps and challenges.

Your First Day

Step 1: Gather Wood

Punch a tree to collect logs.

Recommended Amount

  • 10–20 logs
Open your inventory and turn logs into planks.

Crafting Progression
